Beat to the Sun is one of my smaller paintings. It began as a challenge to use only artist’s primary colors—red, yellow and blue—in a piece of art. Memories of skimming the waves between St. Thomas and St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands inspired the painting.

It ended up being an award-winning endeavor.
